In communities across Canada, people are fueling ovarian cancer research faster than ever before. After decades without real change, improved outcomes for patients are finally possible thanks to Canadians’ donations and fundraising.
With the money raised through the Walk of Hope, Ovarian Cancer Canada’s research strategy is advancing patient-centred research that focuses on three key areas: prevention and early detection, treatment and survivorship (life after treatment), and building scientific capacity – meaning that Canadians affected by ovarian cancer are benefitting from scientific progress at every stage of this disease.
Since its launch in 2002, the Walk of Hope has raised over $35 million to improve outcomes for ovarian cancer patients.
