The PTP Pink Awards is a national recognition event and content series that will feature 2SLGBTQIA+ celebrities and activists (Champions) paying-it-forward to honour Canadian community organizations and individuals (Changemakers) making a difference.
People involved include: Bilal Baig (actor), Douglas Elliott (lawyer and human rights advocate), Devery Jacobs (actor/filmmaker/activist), Carole Pope (agent provocateur/musician), Harper Steele (comedy writer), Beverly Glenn-Copeland (singer/composer/activist), Emily Hampshire (actor), Hollywood Jade (choreographer), Shannon Burns (media personality) and Daniel MacIvor (actor, writer, playwright, producer).
The Pink Awards take place on November 6 at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel in Toronto directly followed by the official Pink Awards After Party produced in association with Precious Cargo by Common Froot at Buddies in Bad Times Theatre. The event includes a pay-it-forward with celebrities (Champions) lending their light and profile to showcase charities (Changemakers), who receive financial support. Selected Changemakers will be revealed ahead of the event.
There is a need to promote visibility and messages of positive change in a challenging climate where 2SLGBTQIA+ rights are being targeted and we are seeing an increase in hate.
