We’d love for you to join us at the 21st Annual Northern Lights Lantern Festival - Saturday, August 10, 2024 from 5:00-9:30pm at Merv Sullivan Park (the Pit), Halifax, NS. Connect with friends old and new for a fun, free event with the whole family! The festival is a celebration of the vibrancy and diversity of Halifax’s North End. It’s a community festival in the truest sense where everyone is welcome. There is no charge for admission, BBQ or activities. 𝗙𝗲𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴: - Bouncy Castles - Lantern Making - Carnival Games - Free Community BBQ (featuring hotdogs, veggie dogs and halal dogs) - Live Music on the Main Stage - Parade of Lanterns at Dusk - Firework Finale at 9:15pm Food vendors on site. Live music on the main stage throughout the festival and the night is capped off with our parade of lanterns and a wonderful fireworks display. Annual Hope for Wildlife Open House event on Saturday,August 31st, 2024 from 12pm-4pm at 5909 Highway 207, Seaforth, NS. Get a once-a-year "behind-the-scenes" look at our wildlife rescue and rehabilitation facility with tours of our medical facilities, access to our bird and mammal nurseries, our recovery units, the marine unit, and our giant flight cages! There will also be wildlife displays and demonstrations, activities for the kids, live music, barbeque, a silent auction, as well as local exhibitors, crafts, and food! It is a fun-filled day for the whole family. All funds raised got to support Hope for Wildlife's efforts to help injured and orphaned wildlife in Nova Scotia. Admission is free. Donations welcome.
