Mixed wintry precipitation could give significant snowfall in some locations. Locations: Nova Scotia. Potential snowfall amounts: 5 cm to possibly 15 cm through Friday, with the highest amounts most likely inland and over higher terrain. Maximum wind gusts: easterly 70 to 80 km/h, with the strongest gusts possible along the Atlantic coast. Timing: tonight into Friday. Remarks: The snow is likely to be very wet and heavy in nature. This, along with gusty easterly winds, may lead to some downed tree limbs and scattered utility outages. Precipitation is expected to become more intermittent and lighter in intensity later tonight or Friday with much lower likelihood of significant accumulation.
